THE HOWARD HUGHES AUTOBIOGRAPHY

The International Herald Tribune called The Autobiography of Howard Hughes "the most famous unpublished book of the 20th century." In 1999 it was published in a small private edition, but that’s long out of print. A few rare hardback copies sell on Amazon.com for $425.

The book will be republished in the UK in April – under the title Howard Hughes: My Story, by Clifford Irving – by John Blake Publishers. I believe it can be purchased then in the USA from amazon.com sand bn.com.

The media made a big fuss about this book back in 1972. I returned all the ill-gotten gains, but I was sent to federal prison for pulling the wool over the eyes of the establishment. Prison was an interesting experience.

The hoax Autobiography creates a more exciting life for Howard Hughes than he had in what's loosely called real life. If an author is allowed to say so, it's a great read.
